I've bitten the bullet and I've begun the job hunt. I've reached the point where I can't take it any longer and I just need to get out. I've applied for a few jobs but there just don't seem to be that many out there at the moment. I'll keep my fingers crossed but right now I don't have much hope :/

In other news: I seem to be losing a bit of weight and I now have purple hair :D

Next weekend - wedding dress shopping :o

Back in the Shire again, woobwoob!

Went to visit the wedding venue this morning with Nick's mum and sister which was really lovely :) The venue was being dressed for a wedding happening this afternoon so it was nice to see it looking a bit more decorated than when I first saw it. After that I went to the Galleria with my mum for a wedding fair. Unfortunately it wasn't very big and most of the suppliers were a bit crap but I did manage to decide on a photographer which is wonderful because I've looked at so many but liked none of them :D I also managed to get a pearl necklace from a little jewellery shop in Hertford so it's been a productive weekend for me and it's only Saturday! 

Of course now I've got all over-excited by wedding planning again and I've spent the rest of the afternoon looking at wedding dresses and shoes and I may even have found a dress I like.

Alas, for Nick it has not been a productive weekend so far as he's spent it playing computer games instead of finding out if he can get replacement GCSE certificates and looking at internet providers/deals.

I think dinner's almost ready so it's time to eat :D

I appear to have become obsessed with grouting. Since having the bathroom done I find myself checking out grouting wherever I find it, be it other people's houses or public toilets. I'm not even interested in the tiling.

This is slightly worrying.

I've had such an awful time at work recently and I really don't know what to do about it anymore :( The only brightside is knowing that this won't be forever. Once Nick has finished college it's my turn to try and work out what to do with my life. At least it's bank holiday so I have an extra day of freedom :D

Away from the bad, I had an awesome time at the field yesterday. It was really nice to see everyone who came. Makes me sad that it's the end of summer now :(

I'm really sleepy now so I think it's time for a nap before roast and pub-time this evening.

Being back in the shire is sooo nice :D but I'm feeling completely pooped at the moment and think I need another weekend to recover from this one.

On Saturday I went to see my Great-Aunt Ivy on my dad's side in Southend with my parents, youngest brother and Nick to break the engagement news and let her meet Nick. I love my great-aunt so much - she's awesome :) She seems like she's about 70 but is actually going to be 93 this year. Sunday we all went to Bluewater for noms and cinema which was nice even though my parents (mainly my mother) did manage to drive me crazy :s and today was more family visits for Nick to meet another great-aunt, this time on my mum's side.

Then Nick and me were stationery shopping for all the bits and pieces we need to make the invites and place-cards and everything else for the wedding. I'm really looking forward to making all the things for the wedding instead of just buying them and it'll be a lot cheaper too :D Between all the wedding stuff and decorating the house I don't think we're going to have a rest for the couple of years *sigh*

I've been wanting to update for a while but it felt quite weird to just start writing in my old journal since it's been two years or so since I last did. So instead here we are with a shiny new lj.

I've been thinking a lot about going to college part-time to do some kind of craft course - something where I can learn to make things or design things - but I'm not really sure what I want to do. I was thinking of maybe learning how to make pottery. I just feel so fed-up with how things are going because of work and I really want to be able to do something more interesting than keying payments all day for the rest of my life.

Which leads me on to thinking about just what I want from my life. I should be feeling pretty settled and happy since I have a job and a home and a wonderful fiance but I just feel like I'm waiting for something more, which is where I hope doing something creative and practical will help.

Anyway, I have no idea how often I'll be able to update this but as long as it's more often than every two years it'll be an improvement. I have no idea if anyone even reads lj anymore. The woes of not having the internet :(
